This years Nokesville Day will take place on May 19, 2007, next Saturday. The event attracts 2,000 to 3,000 people each year, and is the largest fundraiser for the Nokesville Ruritan Club, which raises and gives away thousands to community service groups. Parade entry is free.

Benny made contact with the organizers and they ARE expecting us.

We just received this note from Ginny and Thumper.
Let's see if we can get a bunch of people out to this event
We all have to eat, don't we? Anybody that can't attend,

Fundraising Event Honoring Local Transplant Patient To Be Held

Woodbridge, VA – A “Dinner at Silver Diner” will be held in honor of Cyrus Boggs, a former resident of Dale City who currently resides in Orange, VA. The event is planned for Thursday, May 17, 2007, at the Silver Diner near Potomac Mills, 14375 Smoketown Road, Woodbridge, from 5:00 to 9:30 p.m. Three-year-old Cyrus received a life-saving multi-visceral transplant (stomach, intestines, liver and pancreas) at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D. C. on March 13, 2007. Funds are being raised to assist with transplant-related expenses.

“Dinner at Silver Diner” is a pay-as-you-go event sponsored by Old Bridge United Methodist Men in Woodbridge, VA, with 20% of proceeds donated by the Silver Diner.

Cyrus is the focus of a fundraising campaign to assist with medical and other transplant-related expenses. Cyrus was diagnosed with Necrotizing Entercolotis (NEC). The Boggs family needs an estimated $85,000 to pay transplant-related expenses.

“The family and friends of Cyrus want to encourage everyone to attend our ‘Dinner at Silver Diner’ and help give Cyrus a second chance at life,” said Event Chair Dennis Wyatt. “100% of the profits from the dinner will assist with transplant-related expenses.”

For more information about “Dinner at Silver Diner,” or other fundraising and volunteer opportunities, please contact:
Dennis Wyatt, 703.878.9156, denniswyatt22193@yahoo.com or
Dotty Smith, 703.590.2241, dotty@cotaforcyrusb.com .

Cyrus’ family has asked for assistance from the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA), a national charity based in Bloomington, Indiana. COTA is dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-needy patients. COTA’s services are completely free of charge and 100% of funds generated by COTA fundraising campaigns are available for transplant-related expenses.
